My favourite things
Photography was one of my hobbies for a few years by now and it still lasts. My gear is quite simple: a Canon EOS 600D camera, three lenses: 50mm, 100mm macro and a 17-40 L series zoom, all of them made by Canon, a few filters, remote control, a light diffuser and a tripod. I often do studio work with controlled lights and softboxes, mostly for portraits. I'm not an adept of overworking pictures digitally, although I use Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for color correction, skin tone adjustment, minor retouching and crop. There was a period of experimenting with large format negative photography, and I do carry a 35mm film camera with me for most of my photo trips. About two thirds of my photos are portraits, the rest are landscapes, macros and abstractions. Photography opens up the door to the objective reality, not very often seen by the human eye.
Like Coltrane said: "Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens / bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens / brown paper packages tied up with strings / these are a few of my favorite things."
It's an honor to share a few of "my favorite things" with you, feel free to take a look at them.
